Electrical System Booklet

For residential properties

The electrical system booklet is not a mandatory document by law, but it means that there is a consistent compliance throughout Italy with requirements set out by Article 8 of the Italian Ministerial Decree no. 37/2008, charged to the client or the property owner to keep their electrical systems safe and efficient.
Through the electrical system booklet, the installation company is able to prepare and deliver all the necessary documentation to the owner so that it can fulfil its legal obligations.
The Declaration of Conformity and / or, if applicable, the Declaration of Compliance, must be attached to the booklet, documents required by law that certify compliance with the rule of the trade according to current legislation (Article 7 of Italian Ministerial Decree No. 37/2008 ) and the instructions for system use and maintenance.

Periodic checks

We carry out periodic checks in order to maintain the "Periodic Inspection logbook."

According to Art. 80 - 87 of Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 Chapter III and subsequent CEI EN standard amendments, the employer is required to have a checks logbook according to the indications of the current good practice standards to check the state of repair and efficiency for the electrical systems safety.

These articles specify:

requirements from the employer (art. 80);
safety requirements (art. 81);
live working (art. 82);
working near live parts (Article 83);
lightning protection (art. 84);
building, systems, and equipment protection (Article 85);
periodic checks (art. 86)
sanctions against the employer, manager, hirer and granting body (Article 87)

The "Inspection logbook" must be kept at the plant by the employer and must be made available to the supervisory authority if necessary.

These checks are specified in Article 86 paragraph 1-3 and state that inspection must be made to check the state of repair and efficiency for safety purposes. This means using a specifically certified instrument, value and the state of the ground system, the duration of the emergency lamps and the correct functioning of the differential switches must be checked.

These checks are not to be considered to substitute those carried out by type A Inspection Bodies following the UNI CEI EN 17020 standard and are mandatory every 2/3/5 years depending on the business and system. These bodies are authorised by the Ministry of Economic Development.
